Every patient has a thorough history, examination & assessment. The following appointment, which is called the report of findings is when the chiropractor will discuss treatment options and expectations specific to your case & needs.

Most people do not experience pain during a chiropractic adjustment, as we do everything in our power to minimise any discomfort you might feel.

However, some discomfort might be felt, especially if the patient is already in pain or if there is significant muscle tension or spasm. Any discomfort typically subsides shortly after treatment, and the chiropractor will give you advice on aftercare post-treatment

Gentle and low force techniques are used to restore motion to certain joints and sometimes a ‘popping’ sound can be heard which is the gas being released from the joint.

Of course, not all patients require or are able to have manipulation for a variety of reasons and there are other techniques available which the chiropractor will discuss.

Each case is unique with many variables that may affect how quickly you get better such as age, duration of condition, lifestyle, the list goes on. Patients are continually reassessed so if the chiropractor is not happy with how the condition is progressing it will be reviewed and will refer for further investigation.

No, as chiropractic is primary private healthcare, a GP referral is not required to attend the clinic.

Anything you think may be relevant bring with you to your initial consultation, whether that be previous diagnostic images/reports or NHS correspondence regarding the complaint

If it’s been over 12 months since your last appointment in the clinic, we will be required to have a slightly longer appointment whereby we discuss and assess any changes that may have occurred since your last visit.

Not necessarily, although we may have to extend the appointment to fit in further investigative testing and treatment.

Chiropractic is regulated by The General Chiropractic Council (GCC). All Chiropractors are required to hold a specific qualification and be registered annually with the GCC. The GCC is an independent body responsible for setting the standards of chiropractic education, and then to ensure the standards of practice in the profession.

The majority of private health insurance companies will reimburse you for chiropractic treatment costs. A lot will depend on your individual policy and so it is advisable to check directly with your insurer. We do not invoice insurance companies direct but will happily provide the paperwork that you require. WPA, Cigna, SimplyHealth, Vitality to name a few.
